New Options for Military Storage

By Stuffey | January 9, 2020

There are over 300 military bases in the United States. I would imagine that no two of them are exactly alike, but they are sure to have some things in common. One key similarity would be the need to store, protect and keep ready all types of weapons (from pistols to M16s), gear (from uniforms to optics to parachutes) and equipment (from tactical to communications). Proper storage and retrieval protocol is paramount to a smooth running base.

One of the neat things about many of these bases is that they are more like cities. In addition to Armories, Aircrew Flight Areas, Company Storage and Readiness Centers, on many bases there are also Libraries, Museums, Hospitals, Medical and Dental Clinics and Military Police Stations. So it turns out we can solve many military base storage problems the same way we do off the base, with products like Library Shelving, Museum Cabinets, Medical Carts, Stainless Steel Cabinets and Evidence Lockers to name a few. And for those areas with military specific storage needs we provide equipment specifically designed for the task, including Universal Weapons Rack, Tactical Readiness Lockers and Optics Storage Cabinets.

As with most things in life, storage requirements on military bases are evolving. To meet these changing needs, Spacesaver, one of our vendor partners, has designed a new weapons storage system called WeaponWRX™. This modular storage system is built around a 36″ wide cantilever frame and shares components with the UWR™ Universal Weapons Rack and FrameWRX™ Storage System products. WeaponWRX can be configured to store a variety of weapons along with optics or other accessories mounted to the weapon. You can find out more by visiting Spacesaver’s WeaponWRX Weapon Storage System page.
